Ancho Chilli

There is the Ancho Grande chilli, which is a very popular chilli from the Capsicum Annuum cultivar. There is also the Ancho Poblano, which is perhaps not quite as sweet.

The heat level of both of these Mexican chillies, is on the ‘upper scales’ of mild, although the occasional one may be surprisingly hot.

The young, heart-shaped pods on the bush have a very vibrant rich green colour – a great chilli, giving a dark, earthy Chilli Oil.
